Fire rated glass doors are designed to provide a fire barrier in commercial and industrial buildings. These doors are typically made of glazed fire-resistant material and are fitted with special hardware to ensure they close properly in the event of a fire.
Sliding fire doors are a type of fire rated glass door that is commonly used in high-traffic areas. These doors are designed to slide open and closed. This helps to reduce the amount of time that people must spend opening and closing the door and prevents us from spreading as many germs. Sliding fire doors are also less likely to be damaged in a fire, as they are not subject to the same forces that can cause damage to standard fire doors.
But how do they work?
Fire rated glass doors work by providing a fire-resistant barrier that prevents fire and smoke from spreading through a building. They are designed to withstand high temperatures and prevent the spread of fire. The glass in fire rated doors is also usually thicker than standard glass, which helps to prevent this further.
LABEL have developed with BLOXALL a range of fire resistant automatic sliding doors. Our glazed fire doors and sliding fire doors are for use in fire containment areas. This system gives all the convenience of an automatic sliding door with the peace of mind of a high specification fire-resisting screen.
